"Ensemble 360 has gained an enviable reputation across the UK not only for the quality and integrity of the members’ playing, but also for their ability to communicate the music to a range of different audiences. Formed in 2005, eleven musicians of international standing came together to take up residency in Sheffield with Music in the Round, establishing a versatile group comprising five string players, five wind players and a pianist."
It was a very good day and the concert in the evening was a complete success. We played Elgar's Serenade for strings and his Introduction and Allegro for String Quartet and String Orchestra.
The big news is that I've been asked if I'm available for professional work with the ensemble when needs be. This is exactly what I wanted and it's both a way to get my foot in the door of professional work as well as actually being involved in a proper professional ensemble.
I'm also going to be involved in recording a CD of Haydn's Notturni for the Haydn society in collaboration with the University of Sheffield. This will be on the 11th-13th February 2012 and I'll get a CD with my name on it confirming my involvement.
So all in all it's been a great day!
